Armed men intercepted a trailer arriving from Karachi near the Nooriabad incline within the Jamshoro limits of the M-9 Motorway. The assailants held the driver hostage and seized his mobile phones and cash before fleeing the scene.

The M-9 Motorway serves as a primary corridor for transporting commercial goods between Karachi, Hyderabad, and other urban centres. Nadeem Ahmed Siddiqui, President of the Hyderabad Chamber of Small Traders and Small Industry, expressed concern over these robberies in a joint statement.

Muhammad Fahad Mian, Senior Vice President, and Irfan Arbiani, Vice President, joined Siddiqui in the statement to highlight the risks to transport workers. The chamber warned that a lack of safety for drivers could have widespread consequences for the entire industrial and commercial supply chain.

Authorities are responsible for protecting the lives and property of the business community and transport staff. The chamber urged the Inspector General of Police Sindh, Deputy Inspector General of Police Hyderabad, Jamshoro Police, and senior Motorway Police officials to launch a transparent investigation.

Officials are requested to arrest the culprits, recover stolen belongings, and increase police patrolling along the Nooriabad incline. The group called for improved surveillance, better checking arrangements, and faster emergency assistance at vulnerable points.
