The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) long march fizzled out in Swabi after authorities imposed emergency and Governor's rule across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Police deployed personnel at key locations throughout the Swabi district to restrict the movement of the long march caravan and prevent protests.

Mobile phone networks and PTCL internet services were suspended across Swabi as the PTI caravan was expected to arrive on the night of 11 October. Heavy police contingents were stationed at Aman Chowk in Swabi, Topi, the Swabi Interchange, and Shiwa Adda in Razaar tehsil.

Authorities brought containers to the M-1 Motorway at the Swabi Interchange, Jahangira Bridge, and the Indus River bridge. The Peshawar-Islamabad Motorway and Grand Trunk Road remained open to traffic despite the security measures.

Raids were conducted at several locations in Shiwa Adda and adjoining areas following reports of the expected arrival of the long march, though no arrests were reported. PTI leaders directed party workers to assemble at the Razaar Sports Complex, but police dispersed some workers and youth wing members at Shiwa Adda ground and Ismaila Interchange.

K-P Police warned that those involved in rioting, vandalism or disrupting law and order would face the full force of the law. Authorities sealed the Cantonment area of Peshawar before formally imposing emergency and Governor's rule, leaving Saddar Bazaar and other commercial centres inside the Cantonment closed.

Roads leading to the Provincial Assembly, Mall Road, Khyber Road and the High Court were blocked with containers positioned at Firdous Chowk, Assembly Chowk, University Road, Pajagi Road, Kohat Road and other approaches to Saddar. TransPeshawar suspended the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) service indefinitely during the unrest.
