The General Administration of Customs of China (GACC) confirmed that Pakistan's exports to China increased by 40.51% during the period from January to August 2026. Overall export value reached $2.386 billion, with refined copper products (unwrought) leading the volume increase, which jumped by 68.51%.

The total export value for the period amounted to $2.386 billion, comprising $1.698 billion and $688 million in other components. Zhejiang Province recorded the largest absolute growth among Chinese destinations, increasing by $222.47 million, representing a 42.46% rise to $746.44 million.

Muhammad Imran stated that agriculture-related associations from Pakistan visited Guangdong and other Chinese areas, focusing on commodities like rice, cotton, and sesame seeds, and successfully closed deals to boost bilateral trade. Imran further suggested that the Guangdong gain of approximately $44 million reflects the movement of more cotton yarn, rice, and sesame through South China’s trading and processing centres following those visits.

Pakistani exporters are reportedly utilising tariff concessions available under the China-Pakistan Free Trade Agreement (CPFTA Phase-II) while also aligning their quality standards with those required by the Chinese market.
