Rawalpindi targets 416,000 acres for wheat cultivation in Rabi season

Rawalpindi authorities have set a target to cultivate wheat on 416,000 acres for the 2026-27 Rabi season. Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue Captain (retd) Tayyab Sami Khan chaired a review meeting at the DC Office on Monday to discuss these goals.
Officials have finished measures to ensure that certified seeds are available to farmers on time. Strict monitoring of fertilizer quality and prices, specifically for Urea and DAP, will be enforced across the district.
The strategy includes conducting field surveys, village-level farmer training sessions, and awareness drives. Yield competitions and incentives for high-performing farmers are also being integrated into the agricultural plan.
Captain (retd) Tayyab Sami Khan instructed all executing agencies to maintain close coordination and monitoring of these activities.
