Pathé will release a newly restored 4K version of Sofia Coppola’s film Marie Antoinette on 25 November 2026. A dedicated exhibition for the film will take place at the Chateau de Versailles.
The Lumière Festival is scheduled to present a restored 2K version of Louis Daquin’s 1941 film Nous les gosses. Additionally, the festival will show a restored 4K version of the 1960s production The Opportunists.
Pathé is also preparing a 4K restoration of the 1944 drama Premier de Cordée by Louis Daquin. Jérôme Seydoux and Sophie Seydoux addressed the Classic Film Market at the Pathé Bellecour theater in Lyon on 16 October 2026.
Jérôme Seydoux stated that cinema will resist the dominance of U.S. streamers in France and will instead become a major venue for platforms to launch their productions. Seydoux also noted that U.S. streamers are natural partners for Pathé.
Sophie Seydoux argued that once a film is digitized and restored, it should return to film, noting that film is preserved for 120 years in an absolutely remarkable way. Seydoux emphasized that showing films from early childhood to young people is very, very, very important because it gives them the desire to continue to see films.
The Jérôme Seydoux-Pathé Foundation also conducts specialized educational workshops focused on silent films.
