Canal+ Group has finished a series of acquisitions across two continents to broaden its international footprint. The company completed a $2 billion takeover of MultiChoice as part of its expansion strategy.

The group secured a 34-percent stake in UGC earlier this year and purchased a majority interest in Lucky Red on 1 February 2026. More than 50 percent of the Canal+ subscriber base, which exceeds 40 million people, are English-speaking.

Studiocanal distributed the six-episode miniseries "Gucci: Game Over," which Sky Studios and Lucky Red co-produced based on Allegra Gucci’s memoir. Production wrapped in South Africa for "The Road Home" and the third season of "Shadow Has Fallen" in Cape Town.

Apple Studios is partnering with Studiocanal to produce "What Happens at Night," a psychological horror film adapted from a 2020 novel by Peter Cameron. The 12th edition of Rome’s MIA Market will take place from 19 October to 23 October 2026.

Studiocanal Stories launched in 2024.
