The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Karachi has initiated an investigation into suspected irregularities surrounding the Combined Competitive Examination 2023 (CCE-2023). Authorities issued a notice under Section 19 of the National Accountability Ordinance, 1999, after receiving a credible complaint regarding corrupt practices.

Officials from the Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC) have been summoned to provide examination records to investigators. The SPSC secretary must nominate an officer with a rank of at least BPS-18 to meet the NAB Combined Investigation Team in Karachi on 20 October.

Investigators are demanding certified copies of recruitment advertisements, eligibility rules, and the results published on 2 February. The commission is required to submit cadre-wise vacancy data, quota calculations, and records for candidates who cleared the screening and written tests.

Specific requests include rules for merit determination, interview panel details, candidate assessment sheets, video recordings of interviews, and appointment records. Separate files must be prepared for every individual who qualified for an interview after passing the written examination.

Deliberate noncompliance with these demands may be viewed as obstructing the inquiry, which carries a maximum prison term of 10 years under Section 31 of the ordinance. The allegations are currently undergoing investigation.
