The federal government has imposed constitutional measures of emergency and Governor Rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif addressed the Federal Apex Committee of National Action Plan to discuss the situation.

A high-level political committee engaged in negotiations with the PTI committee for 48 hours before the government promulgated the emergency measures. The Prime Minister consulted President Asif Ali Zardari twice regarding the law and order status in the province.

Military leadership and the federal government are collaborating to achieve sustainable development and peace in the region. An Advisory Council consisting of experts from various fields was established to provide guidance.

During the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir were present. Governor Faisal Karim Kundi and several federal ministers, including Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi and Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, attended the session.

Other attendees included Federal Ministers Ahsan Iqbal, Azam Nazeer Tarar, Ahad Khan Cheema, Ali Pervez Malik, Attaullah Tarar, and Sardar Awais Leghari. Prime Minister Muhammad Sharif described the situation as an unprecedented example of criminal negligence and insensitivity.

He stated, "This is an extremely painful story concerning Khyber Pakhtunkhwa." The Prime Minister noted that the province has been severely impacted by the difficult circumstances created over recent years.

He claimed that the people of the province have waited 13 years for their problems to be resolved. The Prime Minister alleged that corruption worth Rs100 billion occurred in a clean drinking water project and Rs37 billion surfaced in the Kohistan project.

He further claimed that 5,000 police vacancies remained unfilled during the PTI government's tenure. The Prime Minister stated that around 80,000 people died in the war against terrorism, while the province received approximately Rs800 billion under the NFC Award for counter-terrorism since 2010.

He added that neither the Counter Terrorism Department nor the police received adequate attention for equipment and capacity building training. The Prime Minister directed Governor Kundi to visit the school site at Dir Colony where a roof collapse killed a female teacher and children to ensure a full investigation.

He asserted that complete peace was restored in the province by 2018.
