Barrister Danyal Chaudhry told reporters outside Parliament House that security conditions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have deteriorated over several years. Chaudhry stated that the provincial leadership failed to implement effective measures to combat terrorism.

The government maintained dialogue with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) until the final moment before imposing governor's rule. Chaudhry noted that while the state repeatedly requested a practical commitment against terrorism from the PTI, the party provided no satisfactory response.

He claimed that a policy of leniency and negotiations with terrorists exacerbated the security crisis. The lawyer described governor's rule as the least preferred option for any democratic administration.

Chaudhry highlighted several allegations made by Maulana Fazlur Rehman, including a 2012 claim that the PTI was a creation of Western powers and Jews. He further cited Rehman's 2021 allegation that the PTI founder and his party received foreign funding.

Rehman also claimed in 2023 that foreign agencies used the PTI founder to bring him into power. In November 2022, Rehman alleged that foreign funding was intended to support a long march and cancel a visit by the Chinese president.

Chaudhry added that Rehman described the May 2023 incidents as an attempt to weaken the military and demoralise its martyrs. The lawyer dismissed claims that the government seized mineral 'Madianities' or made decisions under any agreement as baseless.

While the Balochistan government supported the state's stance against terrorism, Chaudhry argued the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government acted based on political interests.
