Barrister Danyal Chaudhry inaugurated the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) Women’s Business & Lifestyle Expo on 21 October. More than 40 stalls are featured at the exhibition, displaying a variety of items such as jewellery, precious stones, clothing, and herbal products.

Chaudhry noted that Punjab’s Chief Minister and several women in key ministerial roles reflect their expanding role in governance. The speaker argued against the use of reserved seats as a preferred approach, advocating instead for women to contest general elections and enter assemblies through direct public representation.

RCCI President Nosherwan Khalil Khan stated that creating new business opportunities for women entrepreneurs remains an important priority. Naila Tassadaq, the chairperson of the Women’s Expo, said the initiative aims to enhance the entrepreneurial capabilities of women, encourage innovation, and provide them with opportunities to showcase their products to a wider audience.

Sohail Altaf, the RCCI Group Leader, said that economic improvement is possible through effective coordination and cooperation between the government and the business community.
