The Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training and the National Heritage and Culture Division launched the Heritage Education Initiative in Federal Directorate of Education schools. Students in Classes VI to VIII will participate in the programme to integrate heritage-based learning into their educational experience.

Ten public schools under the Federal Directorate of Education will host the initial pilot phase. Each participating school will form a Heritage Club consisting of 20 to 30 students.

The initiative avoids introducing new subjects, examinations, or graded assignments. Six craft areas, including truck art, patchwork, jewellery making, clay pottery, rabab, and digital art, form the core of the programme.

A structured learning journey covering discovery, experience, creation, and showcase will span the six-month pilot. Students will conclude the programme by curating an exhibition.

The first phase focuses on establishing a proof of concept and piloting the programme. Phase two will concentrate on expansion and consolidation, while the third phase aims to institutionalise the initiative for long-term sustainability.
