Rana Sanaullah suggested the federal government might forgo interim governance in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa if the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) agrees to back law enforcement agencies against terrorism. The administration wants all political entities to reach a consensus on counterterrorism measures to address escalating security challenges.
Sanaullah stated that the primary demand from the opposition is to stand with the country, its armed forces, and its law enforcement agencies. The fight against terrorism has claimed many lives, including those of military personnel, according to Sanaullah.
Political disagreements must not hinder ongoing efforts to fight terrorism, the official said. Sanaullah argued that the strategy used to combat terrorism should not be made conditional on political demands or be questioned.
The government continues to pursue a common strategy between federal and provincial authorities to counter the threat, as the security situation requires cooperation over confrontation. "Everyone should stand with Pakistan, its law enforcement agencies, and its armed forces," Sanaullah said.
