Ahsan Iqbal urged young doctors to contribute to Pakistan’s development by promoting knowledge, modern technology, and research during the seventh convocation of Rashid Latif Medical and Dental College. The chief guest told the graduates to avoid social media propaganda and fake news while ensuring they protect the confidential information of their patients.

Iqbal stated that Pakistan has achieved significant successes since its establishment, including the acquisition of nuclear capabilities and the development of the JF-17 aircraft. He noted that the country faced severe challenges such as terrorism and power outages in 2013, but has since seen billions of dollars in investment through the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.

The minister claimed Pakistan inflicted a decisive defeat on its adversary during the 2025 Marka-e-Haq confrontation under the leadership of Field Marshal Asim Munir. Diplomatic efforts by Pakistan regarding the conflict between Iran and the United States received international appreciation, according to Iqbal.

Sustainable development requires continuity in economic policies and evidence-based decision-making, Iqbal added, predicting that innovations over the next five years could surpass those of the previous half-century. A total of 188 students received degrees and medals at the ceremony, including 147 MBBS graduates from Rashid Latif Medical College and 41 BDS graduates from Rashid Latif Dental College.

Kiran Fatima, the Registrar of the University of Health Sciences, attended as the guest of honour alongside Executive Director Prof. Farrukh Zaman and Director Zulaikha Khan.
