Pakistan established a 2-0 lead in the T20I series against Sri Lanka following their recent matches. The two nations are scheduled to meet for the third T20I on 13 October.

Sahibzada Farhan stated that his objective before the series began was to adopt a different style of cricket by pushing powerplay scores from 40 runs toward 50 or 60. The batsman pledged to keep his approach aggressive in the T20 format, noting that scores exceeding 180 or even 200 are possible.

Farhan said, "Whether I play my 50th match or my 100th, this is the demand of T20 cricket. I will continue to play this way and attack in the same manner." He explained his choice of attacking shots by noting that Muaz Sadaqat, Hasan, and Saim enter the crease after him.

Sadaqat has progressed through the Under-16 and Under-19 systems and is currently performing well, according to Farhan. Farhan also handed Muhammad Imran Randhawa four consecutive overs because he felt the domestic performer was bowling consistently in one area.
