Google hosted Think Apps 2026 in Lahore to gather Pakistan’s leading developers alongside regional and global industry experts. The summit focused on using artificial intelligence to help Pakistani studios reach sustainable growth.

Local developers generated 4.6 billion downloads worldwide during the previous 12 months. The industry currently supports more than 30,000 professionals, having started with fewer than 30 people.

Game District and Funsol are among the pioneering studios in Pakistan. Farhan Qureshi, Google Cluster Director for Pakistan, the Philippines, Thailand, and Frontier Markets, said, "The global impact of Pakistan’s developers reflects the world-class talent and ambition driving the local ecosystem."

Qureshi stated that by empowering developers with cutting-edge AI capabilities, the goal is to accelerate momentum and enable studios to build high-value products that resonate globally, foster sustainable business growth, and elevate Pakistan’s position in the global digital economy. Google Cloud AI can assist studios in developing products, while Google Ads and AdMob support monetisation and user acquisition.

Google Play maintains more than 3 billion monthly active users. The company pledges to train 100,000 developers in AI by 2028.

Google will also enable the local production of 500,000 Chromebooks. Through its Digital Pasban program, Google delivered online safety training to 200,000 families.
