Special tax scheme for small shopkeepers begins implementation stages
The special tax scheme for small shopkeepers is currently in its initial implementation stages. The government stated the scheme offers small shopkeepers a chance to join the documented tax system using a simplified and facilitative framework.
This effort seeks to encourage voluntary compliance while also providing greater certainty and ease of doing business for small traders. The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) is actively working to help traders and resolve any practical or technical issues encountered during the registration process.
Furthermore, the Government of Pakistan and the FBR maintain continuous contact with market representatives and trade bodies to ensure the scheme's implementation remains smooth, transparent, and trader-friendly. Traders are advised by the FBR to approach the board directly when they face any technical difficulty or problem during registration.
