Uzbekistan increased the minimum monthly salary requirement for foreign employees seeking accreditation cards to UZS 1,360,000. This new pay threshold became effective on 1 September.
The adjustment represents a rise of UZS 89,000, which is approximately 7 percent. A presidential decree issued on 23 June established the new national minimum wage of UZS 1.36 million per month.
Under the same order, the government raised student stipends and salaries for employees at budget-funded organisations by 7 percent. Accreditation cards are granted to foreign staff working at representative offices of overseas commercial organisations in Uzbekistan.
These cards permit foreign workers to operate at accredited representative offices without securing separate work authorisation from the External Labor Migration Agency. The exemption from work authorisation applies exclusively to employment within the accredited representative office.
Authorities issue these cards for a duration of up to 12 months. Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade manages the applications.
Foreign firms can request accreditation for representative offices via the country’s online government services portal. The process for foreign employee accreditation cards follows regulations adopted in February 2024.
