The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Food Department has increased the daily wheat release quota to 4,000 metric tonnes. This adjustment follows directions from the Cabinet Oversight Committee and a ruling by the Peshawar High Court.

An extra 1,000 metric tonnes will be provided daily to operational flour mills from the National Reserve Centre warehouses in Azakhel. Officials will distribute the additional wheat across all districts based on the province's population of 43.84 million.

Peshawar is set to receive 116 metric tonnes more each day, while Mardan will get 67 tonnes. Swabi and Charsadda will each receive 46 and 45 tonnes daily, respectively.

Nowshera will receive 43 tonnes daily, while Lower Dir and Lower Swat are allocated 40 and 39 tonnes. Abbottabad will receive 35 tonnes daily, and Mansehra will receive 44 tonnes.

Dera Ismail Khan and Charsadda will each receive 45 tonnes daily. Bannu will receive 33 tonnes daily, while Bajaur and Kohat will receive 32 and 30 tonnes.

Flash flooding damaged wheat stocks at the National Reserve Centre in Azakhel after floodwater entered the warehouses and affected the lower layers of bags. Six of the centre's 11 warehouses sustained damage during the flooding.

The Director Food ordered district and rationing controllers to provide verified lists of operational flour mills. A new notification requires all records regarding wheat transportation, release, and allocations to be updated on the ICT application.
