Jon Stewart will remain the host of The Daily Show through 2028. The comedian will also serve as an executive producer for the programme until the same year.

George Cheeks, co-chair and chief content officer of Skydance Television, said, "We are excited to continue our partnership with Jon and his award-winning news team." The show airs every Monday and is available for streaming on Paramount+ the following day.

Stewart previously led the series from 1999 to 2015 before returning as a weekly host in 2024. Earlier hosts included Craig Kilborn, who managed the programme from 1996 to 1998, and Trevor Noah, who held the position from 2015 to 2022.

The programme lacked a permanent host in 2023. Ronny Chieng, Josh Johnson, Jordan Klepper and Michael Kosta will continue to rotate as hosts from Tuesday through Thursday.

Comedy Central is owned by Skydance Media, which was renamed Skydance Corp after completing a merger with Paramount Global earlier this year.
