Pakistan won consecutive matches against Sri Lanka and England during a home ODI tri-series. The team defeated Sri Lanka by 37 runs.
Salman Ali Agha scored a century in that victory. At the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Pakistan beat England by 87 runs.
Arafat Minhas took 6 wickets for 40 runs against England, while the batting side surpassed the 300-run mark. Minhas also contributed 59 runs during the same match.
Shaheen Afridi noted on 21 October that certain batsmen were lacking form. Concerns persist regarding the top order, as Fakhar Zaman and Saim Ayub have struggled to provide consistent impact.
Sadiq told The Express Tribune, "I think technically correct batsmen will be needed if Pakistan are to cope with the conditions in Africa." Sadiq suggested that Shafiq, Farhan, and Maaz should be included in World Cup plans because they are technically sound.
The analyst stated that Saim has been a total failure with the bat where the team needs him most as an opener, despite receiving ample chances. Sadiq noted that his suggestion to play Agha resulted in a century and that using five bowlers made a significant difference.
He argued it is time for Pakistan to establish a solid opening pair by making changes to the top order. Sadiq pointed out that Hasan could be an ideal middle-order batsman who can use a long handle like Iftikhar Ahmed did.
The analyst said there is a need for a good all-rounder, noting that Arafat has shown guts with both bat and ball while Sajid Khan could be another option. Sadiq described Khan as a real fighter who should be tested.
Pakistan requires two more settled pacers to complement the regular bowlers Afridi, Haris Rauf, and Naseem Shah.
