Donald Trump proposed renaming the Pacific Ocean to the American Ocean during a rally on Wednesday night. The former president stated he only likes the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans and would not put his name or America's name on any other bodies of water.

Trump mentioned he would never rename the Mississippi but considered changing the name of the Hudson River. During the speech, Trump noted that the country has a lake and a gulf but requires a river and an ocean.

The former president suggested that he would likely pass on renaming the Atlantic Ocean. Trump addressed Google Maps and its head, Sundar Pichai, describing both Pichai and Sergey Brin as brilliant men.

He claimed that Pichai and Brin remain rattled by the Gulf of Mexico name change. Trump asked Pichai, "Sundar, I’m thinking of the Atlantic Ocean, can you handle it?"

Pichai responded by saying, "Please don’t ask us to do that." Pichai also noted that oceans cover many countries.

Google recently updated its maps to include the new names for Lake Ontario and the Gulf of Mexico. Apple also implemented the name changes requested by Trump on its maps.

MapQuest refused to adopt the name changes on its platform.
