Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur hit back at Secretary General Salman Akram Raja, stating that lawmakers in the province require no loyalty certificates from any individual. Gandapur described Raja's recent comments as regrettable, irresponsible, and harmful to the internal unity of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party.
The Chief Minister asserted that the party belongs to Imran Khan and stated, "We do not need loyalty certificates from anyone, nor does anyone have the authority to pass judgements on our political loyalty or hand us certificates of treason." Loyalty to the political organisation should be measured by years of struggle, sacrifices, and practical contributions, Gandapur argued.
The leader challenged Raja to identify the specific people making undemocratic decisions, saying, "First, make it clear who these people are." Gandapur questioned the basis for Raja's reference to an investigation and asked, "If an investigation is under way, why does the party not know about it?"
He noted that workers and elected representatives in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa faced arrests, violence, and severe difficulties following the events of 9 May. These representatives and workers won the 2024 elections, according to Gandapur.
The Chief Minister also questioned the role of certain central party office-bearers during repeated marches towards Islamabad, adding, "That too should be accounted for before the party."
