Gilgit-Baltistan Finance Minister Muhammad Ali Akhtar visited the Freedom Gate Prosperity (FGP) head office on 23 October. Ali Akbar Baig accompanied the minister during the official tour.
Muhammad Anwar, the Chief Executive Officer of FGP, welcomed the minister at the facility. Shafqat Aziz, a Senior Policy Advisor at FGP, was also in attendance.
Akhtar stressed the necessity of coordinated efforts between development organisations, civil society, and government institutions. The minister emphasised turning development priorities into practical initiatives that benefit economically vulnerable groups and young people.
He highlighted the importance of partnerships that align public-sector goals with community needs to promote livelihood opportunities and enhance local capacities against climate challenges. Akhtar underscored how civil society organisations support sustainable development through technical expertise and locally driven initiatives.
Anwar stated that closer collaboration between the Gilgit-Baltistan government and development organisations could help translate shared priorities into practical interventions at the community level. The Chief Executive Officer noted that achieving sustainable and long-term development outcomes requires evidence-based planning, local participation, and cross-sector partnerships.
