Tehreek Tahaffuz Aiyeen-e-Pakistan (TTAP) suggested the Constitution Room in parliament as the site for a meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and National Assembly Opposition Leader Mahmood Khan Achakzai. Akhunzada Hussain stated, "If the prime minister comes to the opposition chamber, we will take him to the Constitution Room."

Rana Sanaullah, the Prime Minister's Adviser on Political Affairs, requested that the opposition suspend other demands to focus on counterterrorism talks. The adviser said, "Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is ready to invite all stakeholders to discuss this [terrorism]."

Rana Sanaullah declined a request from Mahmood Khan Achakzai for a neutral location to meet the Prime Minister. The adviser maintained that the Prime Minister House is not anyone's personal property; it belongs to the state.

Mahmood Khan Achakzai proposed meeting at the residence of Rana Sanaullah or Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry. The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)-led federal government imposed an emergency and governor's rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on 11 October 2026.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has governed Khyber Pakhtunkhwa since 2013.
