The government has pushed back the completion of the Murree Road signal-free corridor project by one year. Financial constraints forced this postponement of the infrastructure work.
Authorities approved a Murree Development Program valued at Rs1.4735 billion to continue regional improvements. Construction activities are already taking place within the hill station area.
A network of 120 link roads will be established across Murree as part of the expansion. Upgrades are underway to grant Kashmir Road and Murree Road state highway status.
Widening operations have commenced on Imtiaz Shaheed Road, Hall Road, and Upper Jhika Gali. The plan includes restoring 23 heritage buildings to their original architectural designs alongside the renovation of 76 shops.
The Walled City Authority received Rs550 million to beautify Mall Road and install uniform signboards. Officials will demolish illegal three-story structures located along Hall Road, Imtiaz Shaheed Road, and Mall Road.
Multi-story parking plazas are scheduled for construction in the town. Punjab has also approved three additional development schemes worth Rs63 billion.
