Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif called for unhindered access to training and resources for young athletes during a ceremony on Monday. The Prime Minister announced plans to convene a National Sports Conference to bring together federal and provincial sports officials, legendary former stars, and prominent contemporary athletes.

“We must provide our young players in Punjab, Sindh, KP, Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Kashmir with opportunities to move forward, encouraging and supporting talent wherever it exists, without discrimination,” Sharif said. Pakistan secured 2 silver medals and 8 bronze medals at the Asian Games.

Winning players from the Asian Games received cheques distributed by Sharif. The cabinet granted approval for an e-sports policy and its federation.

Sharif directed the immediate implementation of a proposal regarding support and ownership extended to national players by PIA, Railways, WAPDA, and other organizations during his tenure in the previous government. Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme (PMYP), addressed the ceremony.

“We must provide our young players in Punjab, Sindh, KP, Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Kashmir with opportunities to move forward, encouraging and supporting talent wherever it exists, without discrimination,” said Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.
