About Sun News
Sun News launched on 1 May 2025 with a simple aim: to bring national news to the masses in Punjabi, the language more Pakistanis speak at home than any other.
Punjabi has always carried the life of this country, in its homes, its markets and its music. On national news it was largely missing. Millions of people followed the stories that shaped their lives in a language that was not their own. Sun News was founded to change that, and to be the first channel to give Punjabi a proper home in national broadcasting.
We cover Pakistan and the world with the standards of a modern newsroom: reporting as events unfold, distribution built for phones and social platforms, and a website that publishes in English and Urdu alongside Punjabi. We serve viewers across Pakistan and the Punjabi-speaking diaspora abroad, who have rarely had a national channel speak to them in their own voice.
Pakistani. Punjabi. National.
What we publish
Reporting from Pakistan and the world across politics, business, sport, showbiz, science and technology. Alongside the news we publish Sundial, a running read of the numbers that shape daily life here, including the rupee, fuel, gold and inflation, each one sourced, dated and explained in plain terms.
