Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, US President Donald Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff, and European representatives held talks in Norway on Tuesday. Diplomacy took place over two days in Norway's capital and Russia's St Petersburg.

Norway's prime minister described the Tuesday discussions as "Good and constructive." The idea of a trilateral meeting at the leaders' level was floated in Oslo.

The Kremlin stated it may be willing to resume trilateral talks at the technical level in Abu Dhabi next month. Witkoff met Vladimir Putin, who was joined by Yuri Ushakov in the St Petersburg talks.

Ushakov reported that Witkoff informed Putin about the Oslo discussions and new approaches from Kyiv and the Europeans. Ushakov said, "In terms of resolving the Ukraine crisis, there wasn't much there that was useful."

Witkoff noted, "there is still important work to do" and stated, "President Trump remains committed to seeing this war end..." Donald Trump agreed to buy Russian diesel and paused some sanctions on Moscow.

Russia said it is ready to resume talks with Ukraine and the US to end the war. Evgeny Popov said, "Right now Trump is the only leader in the Western world who is doing something for peace."

Popov added that Russia, China and the United States are the only superpowers right now in the world. Popov remarked, "Of course, it will be good for the entire world if our leaders meet in China."

A meeting between Vladimir Putin, Donald Trump and Xi Jinping may take place in China next month on the fringes of the Apec summit. Russia freed US citizen Stephen Hubbard.
