HBO will release the fourth season of The Gilded Age on 1 November 2026. The season three finale attracted 5 million viewers over a three-day period.
This figure represents an 88 percent rise in viewership compared to the show's premiere in 2022. The third season received eight Emmy nominations.
HBO reduced the production budget for the third season, which contrasts with the 100 million dollars spent on the first season. Peggy and Dr. William Kirkland became engaged during the conclusion of the third season.
Christine Baranski said, "It takes time to establish these characters, and establish the world of the Gilded Age." Cynthia Nixon remarked, "Every season has felt like, will there be another one?"
Nixon also noted, "It is kind of staggering how many parallels there are to this moment that we’re in." Spector stated, "The thing that I trust about capitalists is that they like making money."
Orsi expressed a desire for the series to continue for 10 seasons if possible. Fellowes said, "We’ll go on writing it as long as we’re asked."
