Pakistan defeated Sri Lanka by 82 runs on 11 October after Maaz Sadaqat scored 96 off 51 balls in the second T20I. The host nation reached a total of 215-3 during the match.
Sadaqat, who was born in May 2005, achieved a half-century in his third outing against Sri Lanka. The batter previously scored 75 off 46 balls in his second ODI against Bangladesh in March 2026 and was named Player of the Match.
In May 2025, Sadaqat made his Pakistan Super League debut for Peshawar Zalmi against Islamabad United, where he scored 55 off 33 balls and earned Player of the Match honours. He also represented Pakistan Shaheens at the ACC Men’s Asia Cup Rising Stars in November 2025, scoring 258 runs across five innings to be named Player of the Tournament.
Sadaqat's domestic career includes a first-class debut for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the 2022-23 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy and a List A debut for City Club in Bangladesh’s Dhaka Premier Division in 2023. The Pakistan Cricket Board announced Sadaqat as part of the 15-member squad for the Asian Games in June.
Raffatullah Mohmand stated, "Apart from being a quick learner and skilled cricketer, Maaz’s success also lies in in-depth preparation of all the challenges fronting him." Sadaqat has also performed in franchise leagues, scoring two centuries for Jamaica Kingsmen in the Caribbean Premier League, including 114 off 58 deliveries in the title decider.
