Amazon launched the Bee Frontier wearable AI device today for $74.99, offering it in black, green, and lavender. The company acquired Bee, a startup known for its $50 always-listening AI wearable, last year.
$99.99 is the price for the Bee Eclipse, which will be available soon in black, pink, yellow, and silver. Designed for professional use cases, the Eclipse features a 21-day battery life on a single charge.
Bee Frontier provides up to seven days of battery life and IP67 water resistance. Users can wear the Frontier as a clip-on pin or a wristband similar to a Fitbit.
Two microphones with advanced noise filtering and a single button for power control equipped the Frontier device. The AI technology captures everyday conversations to generate summaries, insights, and actionable tasks automatically.
Conversation recaps are provided for free, though the devices retain a 14-day memory of interactions. A Bee Pro subscription costs $11.99 per month and includes compatibility with Amazon, Alexa Plus, Gmail, Google Calendar, and Microsoft Outlook.
Security architecture ensures private computing by not retaining raw audio, while user-controlled keys encrypt transcripts. Amazon employees are unable to access transcripts unless a user chooses to share them intentionally.
The system can be programmed to stop recording if no sound is detected for a specific period. Users may connect the device to Apple HealthKit, upload photos, or link it with Alexa.
The AI is trained on the specific voice of the individual user during the initial setup process. Bee can create calendar events by remembering dates and times discussed during plans with friends.
