The iPhone Duo officially goes on sale today, marking the debut of the new device. Several units of the iPhone Duo have already reported broken screens shortly after purchase.
Reddit users claim the defect occurs at a consistent location on all impacted devices. A problem manifests on the inner screen along the hinge, where a strange bright line or lines appear across the right side of the display.
One Australian user reported owning the phone for approximately 6 hours before the damage occurred. The owner had opened the phone fewer than 20 times when they heard an audible crack during operation.
The screen broke right along the hinge despite there being no marks or damage on the external hinge or the inner screen surface. An Apple Store representative stated they would provide "a brand-new one on the spot" for affected customers.
Apple did not immediately reply to a request for comment regarding the hardware issues.
