Reese Witherspoon and Mediawan Partners are purchasing Hello Sunshine from Candle Media to regain ownership of the production company. Seth Rodsky will join the Board of Hello Sunshine alongside Witherspoon and representatives from Mediawan.

Candle Media previously acquired the company, an investment that pushed Hello Sunshine's valuation to nearly 1 billion dollars. Witherspoon established the firm in 2016, which received initial backing from The Chernin Group, led by Chernin and Jesse Jacobs.

The production house produced high-profile projects including the series Big Little Lies, The Morning Show, and Daisy Jones & The Six. Other notable releases from the company include the 2022 drama film Where the Crawdads Sing, Elle, and a Legally Blonde prequel series on Prime Video.

The company also released Lucky in partnership with Apple TV. Moelis & Company acted as the financial advisor to Candle Media during its involvement with Hello Sunshine.

Kirkland & Ellis represented both Candle Media and Hello Sunshine, while Latham & Watkins served as counsel for Witherspoon. Gibson Dunn provided legal representation for Mediawan.
