Mustafa Kamal pledged to implement comprehensive reforms in the nursing sector, including professional training, accountability measures, and improved salaries. The official made these remarks during a ceremony to distribute certificates to nurses who completed a Continuing Professional Development course.

Training 50 nurses represents the initial step toward elevating professional standards, with plans to eventually train staff from all federal hospitals. Islamabad's nursing system is intended to serve as a blueprint for the rest of the country.

Government efforts will focus on enhancing service-related matters and pay for nursing staff. Kamal stated that nursing colleges had previously secured licences through payments, prompting new measures to curb corruption in the Pakistan Nursing and Midwifery Council.

Following a recent crisis at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), comprehensive measures are being introduced at the facility. Future recruitment at PIMS will transition to a contract basis.

The Polyclinic-II project is scheduled for completion within one year and will include fire safety and other essential facilities.
