Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi told the Global Security Forum in Doha on 19 October that achieving peace between the United States and Iran requires patience, trust and sustained efforts. Naqvi stated that lasting peace cannot be secured in a single meeting.

The minister said Pakistan had made every possible effort to bring Washington and Tehran to the negotiating table. Mohsin Naqvi said, "Peace cannot be achieved in a single meeting. It requires patience, trust and continuous efforts."

Iran's demands for a resolution include ending hostilities across regional fronts, easing sanctions on its oil exports, and lifting the US blockade on its ports. Washington maintains that addressing Iran's nuclear programme is a priority.

Abbas Araghchi noted that Tehran's proposal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz within 7 days remained on the table. Saudi Arabia reported intercepting 4 drones on 18 October and reported further drone interceptions on 19 October.

Forces from Yemen’s internationally recognised government continue to fight Houthi rebels. Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkiye signed the MJDA on 7 August.

Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry stated that the alliance was defensive in nature and was not directed against any particular country. Chaudhry added that the MJDA's collective deterrence could come into play if negotiations failed and the regional crisis escalated into military conflict.
