Secretary Commerce Jawad Paul stated that substantial progress had been achieved on several important provisions of the proposed trade deal.
Specific discussions focused on opening markets for Pakistani dates and mangoes while exploring the import of U.S. soybeans and cotton. Jam Kamal highlighted the industrial potential of Hub in Balochistan and invited American companies to attend FoodAg 2026 in Karachi from 23 to 26 November.
Investment in the mineral sector was also a key topic of conversation. Secretary Commerce noted the difficulties caused by disruptions to land trade routes linking Pakistan with Central Asian markets and Afghanistan.
