The National Cyber Crime Investigation Authority (NCCIA) summoned Mohammad Rizwan on 2 October 2026 concerning alleged dressing-room leaks during the England series. The authority directed the 34-year-old to appear in person at 3pm on 2 October 2026.
Investigators contacted Rizwan multiple times and requested his cooperation but did not receive a positive response. Upon appearing before the NCCIA on 2 October 2026, Mohammad Rizwan underwent a forensic examination of his mobile phone.
The NCCIA requested Rizwan's cooperation to conduct forensic examination and analysis of the seized mobile phone. Furthermore, Rizwan was issued notice under Section 160 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
A four-member NCCIA team will question Rizwan during the process. Rizwan stated that the phone was taken from him in England on 31 August, and he provided the necessary password.
Officials had access to Rizwan's unlocked phone when he appeared before the NCCIA on 10 September. The inquiry reportedly concerns allegations involving online betting, gambling, and the leaking of team information from the dressing room.
In response to the proceedings, Rizwan sought written details regarding the inquiry and demanded the return of his mobile phone.
