Shaun Tait is set to work as a bowling consultant for Pakistan, according to reports. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is anticipated to formally announce this appointment shortly.
Tait is expected to arrive in Pakistan early next week to complete the necessary contractual procedures. Previously, Tait held the position of the national team’s full-time bowling coach for Pakistan.
His tenure began when he took charge before Australia’s tour of Pakistan in March 2022. The role continued until the conclusion of Pakistan’s home series against New Zealand in January 2023.
Initially, Tait signed a contract with the PCB that was set for one year. Most recently, the former coach provided services to Bangladesh’s fast-bowling unit.
Regarding his departure, Tait stated, “The full-time role of year-round red and white-ball cricket, my 12 months was enough and it’s time to just step back and give my family a little bit more time.” The PCB is reportedly aiming to strengthen Pakistan’s fast-bowling setup.
Pakistan has an upcoming home series scheduled against Sri Lanka. The scope of his previous involvement included 3 Tests, 35 ODIs, and 21 T20Is.
