The Inland Revenue Service Officers Association (IRSOA) opposed further structural changes at the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) in a press release issued on 16 October. The association urged the government to assess the progress of current reforms before launching any new initiatives.

Several major projects remain in implementation, including production monitoring, Compliance Risk Management (CRM), and the Faceless Inland Revenue System. Digital invoicing and Point-of-Sale (POS) integration also feature among the ongoing federal tax measures.

IRSOA warned that repeated restructuring without evaluating existing measures could weaken operational capacity and hurt revenue collection. Frequent organizational changes may create administrative uncertainty and undermine continuity, according to the group's statement.

Businesses currently navigate a complex landscape involving multiple federal, provincial, and local tax authorities. The association argued that the long-term goal should be a unified national tax administration framework with harmonized procedures and integrated information systems.

Sustainable changes require institutional confidence and operational continuity to succeed. IRSOA called on the government and FBR leadership to consolidate ongoing initiatives, independently evaluate outcomes, and consult stakeholders before considering further structural changes.
