JazzCash has launched a service allowing consumers of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Electricity Department to settle their utility bills via the mobile app or through local agents. The company already facilitates the payment of examination fees for the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) AJK.

Arif Chaudhary, Head of Public Sector Partnerships at JazzCash, said, "For families across AJK, paying an electricity bill has often meant a long journey to a bank branch or collection centre. By bringing these payments onto JazzCash, through both the app and our agent network, we are making essential public services accessible to people wherever they live." Muhammad Tayyab, Secretary, Energy and Water Resources, Government of AJK, stated that the partnership helps citizens in areas with limited banking services while improving the efficiency of public service delivery.

The platform is currently collaborating with provincial and federal governments to enhance transparency and decrease the reliance on cash for public payments.
