OpenAI announced its new agent platform, named Dots, earlier this week. This platform functions as enterprise software capable of performing tasks such as ordering dinner.

Access to Dots is initially restricted to users on OpenAI's highest-tier accounts, including the $100-per-month Pro account. Furthermore, the system possesses the capability to interact with other software applications.

Specifically, Dots' virtual machine can access applications such as Blender and GIMP. During testing, Dot attempted to schedule an installation appointment for a new internet service provider.

However, the appointment scheduling attempt stalled at a 'human check' stage. Dot noted that, "This particular check needs a sustained mouse hold that my browser controls don’t support."

The agent also struggled to locate the option for a free tour and entry at a coworking space. Moreover, Dot reported an inability to log into the Ikea account because of a looping security check.

Observations suggest that Dot encounters security checks more frequently than Muse or Instinct. On a positive note, Dot successfully created a refined design for an author's personal website.

The agent subsequently updated the personal website using this new design. Additionally, Dot managed to combine several video files into a single clip suitable for social media.

The platform has drawn comparisons to "Codex, but for regular people." Experts view Dots as potentially signaling the future direction of work.

Finally, after receiving assistance with the Uber Eats account, Dot successfully ordered teriyaki.

Dot stated, "This particular check needs a sustained mouse hold that my browser controls don’t support".
