Ryan Roslansky is leaving both LinkedIn and Microsoft, according to reports. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella confirmed that Roslansky departed while in a strong position.

Roslansky previously held the role of head of Office last year. Microsoft also announced the launch of a new Copilot.

The company moved the teams behind Office and Microsoft Teams to Charles Lamanna. Jon Friedman now reports to Jacob Andreou, the Copilot chief.

Dan Shapero was appointed as the new CEO of LinkedIn. Roslansky stated that he could not effectively lead the next phase of work without being based in Redmond full time.

Furthermore, Roslansky mentioned that his family and personal life remain in the Bay Area. Roslansky, who taught himself coding in 1996, was hired by Jeff Weiner at LinkedIn in 2009.

He subsequently became the CEO of LinkedIn in 2020. Since 2020, LinkedIn has seen its membership surpass one billion and nearly tripled its business operations.

Roslansky warned, "If we’re not careful, we’ll end up with a very expensive way to avoid writing and reading in an ocean of sameness, genericness."
