MediaTek announced on 30 September that its flagship Dimensity 9500 chip powers Samsung's new Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra and Galaxy Tab S12+ tablets. Samsung launched the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra and Galaxy Tab S12+ as its latest flagship Android tablets.
The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra incorporates a 14.6-inch AMOLED display, which boasts a resolution of 2960 × 1848 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. For the Galaxy Tab S12+, Samsung equipped it with a smaller 12.6-inch AMOLED panel, featuring a resolution of 2800 × 1752 pixels.
Both tablet models operate using the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset and run One UI 9, which is built upon Android 17. Samsung guarantees seven years of security updates and operating system upgrades for these devices.
The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra is available in configurations of 12GB/256GB, 12GB/512GB, and 16GB/1TB. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Tab S12+ comes in 12GB/256GB and 12GB/512GB versions.
Powering the larger tablet is an 11,600mAh battery. Regarding the S27 Ultra, reports suggest the device may feature a new 16MP front camera.
The Galaxy S27 Ultra is expected to use Samsung’s next-generation M16 OLED display. This M16 panel is rated for a local peak brightness of up to 10,000 nits and a global peak brightness of 2,800 nits.
The Galaxy S27 Ultra is anticipated to keep its 6.9-inch display size, maintaining a resolution of 3120 × 1440 pixels. Samsung is reportedly developing methods to boost the battery capacity without increasing the phone's visible size.
Industry expectations point towards the Galaxy S27 series launching early next year.
