Shopify launched Canvas, an AI-powered website builder, enabling users to construct and modify online stores by conversing with the Sidekick assistant. The platform renders the actual store in real time as Sidekick makes alterations, and Canvas also displays the underlying code for the storefront.
Currently, Canvas operates exclusively on desktop devices, and at its debut, it lacks support for third-party themes, app blocks, extensions, Markets, translations, rollouts, or theme updates. Separately, OpenAI introduced Dots, a new category of always-on artificial intelligence agent.
These Dots are engineered to pursue user-defined objectives continuously, rather than requiring a fresh prompt for every single action. Functionality for Dots extends across connected applications, allowing communication via ChatGPT, Slack, and Microsoft Teams.
Access to Dots is presently restricted to ChatGPT Pro and Business Premium subscribers within eligible markets. Regarding other tech developments, Tesla reportedly plans to use Chinese manufacturing facilities to support the scaling up of its Optimus humanoid robot supply chain.
