Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu requested an economic plan incorporating blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies to prepare for possible international banking sanctions. Netanyahu expressed anxiety regarding potential restrictions on the Israeli banking system and warned that American military assistance would not be permanent.
The Prime Minister urged the nation to increase its military self-reliance while clarifying that he did not intend for Israel to exit the global economic system. Gadi Eisenkot stated that Netanyahu is "no longer fit" to lead the country, describing the Prime Minister's actions as the "madness of a man who is no longer fit to lead the country."
Eisenkot further claimed there is "conclusive proof that he has lost touch with reality and moved into a world of delusions," and mocked the proposal as "Bibicoin." The critic added that this is not an imagined nightmare scenario but rather Netanyahu’s plan for Israel if he is reelected.
An unnamed senior economic official claimed that using alternative financial technologies to circumvent sanctions would fail to achieve the intended goal and could harm the economy. Western nations, including the United Kingdom, have already implemented measures against entities and individuals associated with Israeli settlements.
Knesset elections are scheduled to take place on 27 October 2026.
Gadi Eisenkot said Benjamin Netanyahu is "no longer fit" to lead Israel.
