Anthropic reported a net loss of $80.7 billion for the first half of 2026. A $72 billion accounting charge contributed to this figure, triggered by a rise in the estimated value of bonds that may eventually convert into company shares.
Excluding that specific accounting charge, the firm posted an operating loss of approximately $8.1 billion against $4.6 billion in revenue during 2025. The company recorded a $42 billion net loss for the full year of 2025, according to Reuters.
During the first half of 2025, Anthropic saw a loss of $13 billion. Infrastructure and computing capacity costs rose to nearly $9 billion in the first half of 2026, up from $2.3 billion spent during the same period in 2025.
The firm has pledged to invest at least $518 billion over the next decade on cloud services and computing infrastructure. Revenue for the third quarter reached $16.8 billion, marking a 45% increase from the previous quarter.
The company's revenue stood at $11.6 billion in the second quarter. Analysts suggest Anthropic may go public in November.
