The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has ordered immediate measures to reclaim 898 kanals of government property in Islamabad’s Mouza Shah Allah Ditta. This specific land was originally acquired by the state to serve as a controlled dumping site and landfill.
Member Estate CDA Muhammad Zaman Wattoo issued an official letter on 15 October 2026 directing staff to provide an updated report on the authority's physical possession of the area. Wattoo instructed the Deputy Commissioner CDA to work with relevant departments to take instant steps to retrieve the land.
The orders came after the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Islamabad/Rawalpindi Region sent a communication on 8 October regarding a complaint of illegal encroachment. The complaint alleges that officers, officials, and other parties have illegally occupied the CDA land in Shah Allah Ditta.
Officials must now identify the individuals responsible for failing to protect the government property. The authority has been told to determine which revenue officers and other personnel failed to perform their duties in safeguarding the site.
The allegations of wrongdoing have not been established as findings based on the information currently provided.
