Iran keeps its borders open to Pakistan for the export of goods, including liquefied petroleum gas. Reza Amiri Moghadam stated, "Iran’s borders with all its neighbouring countries remain open."
The Iranian official added that closing borders to immediate neighbours like Pakistan would be illogical and against the interests of both nations. Several hundred trucks transporting LPG crossed the Rimdan border into Gabd recently.
These vehicles stayed in Gabd for weeks without being cleared or unloaded. Pakistan modified its E-Form procedure for imports originating from Iran.
Consultations with Pakistani authorities are currently happening to resolve these issues. Moghadam said, "Under the prevailing circumstances, it would be neither logical nor in the interests of either side for Iran to close its borders to its immediate neighbours, particularly brotherly Pakistan."
The official noted that Iran has made every possible effort to promote this essential bilateral trade. Moghadam further clarified that there are currently no Iranian restrictions on exporting goods to Pakistan, including LPG.
