The Punjab government will conduct its annual school census for the 2026–27 academic year. Officials will survey 38,000 government schools during the data collection period.
From 21 October to 31 October 2026, the province will carry out the official count. The Program Monitoring and Implementation Unit (PMIU) has published an online training schedule to prepare for the exercise.
Master trainers are set to begin their instruction on 16 October 2026. Between 17 October and 19 October 2026, online sessions will be held for head teachers, Assistant Education Officers (AEOs), and IT teachers.
Each tehsil will nominate a male and a female IT teacher to act as master trainers. Instructional content will reach IT teachers from all high and higher secondary schools.
The training also targets heads of elementary schools, primary schools, and mosque-based schools. A trial exercise is planned for 19 October and 20 October 2026 to prepare the census module.
All nominated officials and teachers have received orders to attend their specific training sessions.
