The Rawalpindi Ring Road project is scheduled to open to the public within the next few weeks. Rawalpindi Division Commissioner Suleman Ghani stated that the government intends to launch the road for public use shortly.

Authorities have been instructed to finish all outstanding construction tasks by 25 October 2026. Gujar Khan Assistant Commissioner Syeda Zeneb Hussain visited the project's starting point at Banth Mor to inspect progress.

Hussain ordered officials to ensure the site is prepared for its official inauguration and public use by the October 2026 deadline. Raja Jawaid Ikhlas noted that the project was first planned in 2015 during the tenure of the PML-N government.

The road passes through the tehsils of Gujar Khan, Rawalpindi, and Taxila. According to Ikhlas, the route will offer easier access to Islamabad International Airport for overseas Pakistanis arriving from Dadyal, Mirpur, Jhelum, Kallar Syedan, and Gujar Khan.

Ikhlas further claimed the infrastructure would alleviate heavy traffic in Rawalpindi and enhance regional connectivity. The project is expected to improve livelihoods and support the local economy by boosting commercial activity in the surrounding areas.
